Adoration

As we continue to focus on our Values, this term we learn some lessons about LOVE. Drawing from the Bible, 1st Corinthians speaks volumes about this important and ageless Value. Here is how we can teach children about what love is and how together we can practice Adoration which is fuelled only by Love.

LOVE IS PATIENT
We can all practice being patient with one another as this promotes harmony.

LOVE IS KIND
Kind people exude love in all they do. Children can practice being kind to others, animals as well.
LOVE DOES NOT ENVY OR BOAST
Sometimes children as well as adults like to show off things that others may admire or even want to have for themselves. Learning how to minimize either will go a long way and hopefully help to fully do away with envy and boastful tendencies.

LOVE IS NOT SELFISH
Younger children especially need to refine the ability to share with others and not be too focussed on one’s self. Sharing of play items is a good start in learning how to be part of a group.

LOVE IS TRUTHFUL
Telling the truth is challenging at times when there are consequences involved. However, we grow in strides when we learn how to tell the truth as it really does set one free! Children often mirror the adults so it is important to avoid telling those ‘White lies’ that seem innocent but are just plain lies.

So, as we reinforce Love as a value, let us not relent in providing the children with consistent support as they grow by observing these aspects through practicing them ourselves.
