Strong in The Lord

As you know, we have been going over our Bible theme ‘Armor of God’ this term derived from Ephesians 6:13-16 which has been going well.
I’m sure we all have some kind of visual representation of how the armor of God looks like, either from our Sunday School days or the kid friendly Bible movies or songs. We have been going over them all; the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.

I love how it begins in verse 10 of Ephesians 6. It says, “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” How do we find ways to do so in such difficult times? How do we show our children how to be strong in the Lord and depending on His strength? Have we consciously been doing so?

The entire essence of the armor of God is not just the visual representation but to also learn and understand that the truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation are more than just words but things we should apply daily in our lives and teach them to the children as well.

I challenge you and myself from now onwards to be more conscious and intentional in applying these factors in your day to day however big or small. Be sure to include the children in this too. There is a verse in Proverbs 22:6 that says “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

These are the values and lessons we instill in them from a young age that shapes them and their character which coincides with our school mission which is to discover, nurture, inspire, challenge and develop young minds holistically in a God-fearing manner to their fullest potential.
